Apple is under a barrage of criticism from privacy activists and detractors alike, who claim the kid safety standards(CSAM feature) raise a number of warning flags. While part of the backlash may be attributed to disinformation resulting from a fundamental misunderstanding of Apple's CSAM technology, others raise real concerns about mission creep and privacy breaches that Apple did not address at the outset.
In August 2019, Apple introduced the Apple Card, a credit card that is linked to Apple Pay and integrated directly into the Wallet app. Apple has partnered with Goldman Sachs to create the card. It is optimized for Apple Pay but can still be used for any transaction like a traditional credit card. Apple made the card first available to select customers in August, before making it open to all customers later in the month.
In the course of the ongoing legal battle with Epic Games, Apple recently released a whitepaper called, "Building a Trusted Ecosystem for Millions of Apps: A threat analysis of Sideloading." The document provides Apple's arguments for maintaining tight control over the highly lucrative iPhone app ecosystem, despite the pressure from major developers as well as U.S. lawmakers.
