RogueKiller anti-malware is a free software designed to analyze, detect, stop and remove various PC infections. The tool scans your system for suspicious applications in hiding running processes, services, DLLs loaded, MBR boot sectors, files associated with browsers and entries in the system registry.
RogueKiller displays a list of potentially unsafe applications and allows you to effectively disable and remove malicious software in Windows. Rootkits, rogue software, spyware, adware, junkware, PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) trojans, worms, hidden processes, malicious autorun entries and Master Boot Record (MBR), registry hijacks, unload infected DLLs from processes, hijacked DNS and host entries (HOSTS file), etc.
RogueKiller anti-malware also features reading and repairing damaged shortcuts to applications, the host file, proxy and DNS servers introduced to the system settings. Threats are detected mainly based on whitelists and blacklists, but also RogueKiller module is equipped with heuristic detection of malicious software. RogueKiller anti-malware also generates detailed reports of changes in the form of a text file that is stored by default on the desktop. The application offers also an option to remove rootkits.
