If you have a notched phone, then you would know that all Apple’s notched devices such as iPads and iPhones are equipped with a Home Button alternative that is known as a Home Bar. This is a thin line which is present at the bottom-center of the display screen on your iPhone.

We love Home Bar as an alternative of the Home Button especially with the bigger screen iPhones and iPads as there is a lot of space on the display screen to use the widgets and personalize the display. However, if you download a jailbreak, you can make this Home Bar even better and that is what we will be discussing in this post today.

MediaBar14 is a jailbreak tweak that was released recently by iOS developer MegaDev that allows the users to add more features to the Home Bar that will allow you to control the media playback.

With MediaBar14, you can easily turn the Home Bar into a media progress bar to show how much of the song you have already listened to. Apart from that, you also have access to a forward, back, play, and pause button that will let you control the media playback as you want.

What we love about this jailbreak tweak is that it has a subtle footprint and an amazing media playback accessibility which is quite impressive seeing that Home Bar is visible everywhere throughout the mobile OS.

Does this tweak sound familiar to you? Well, of course it does because we shared MediaBar with you last year. MediaBar14 is basically a rewritten jailbreak tweak for iOS and iPadOS 14 devices.

Once you install MediaBar14, it adds a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app from where you can configure the tweak howsoever you like. From here, you have the following configuration options available:

  • Turn on or off MediaBar14 whenever you want
  • Hide or display the Title Background
  • Display or hide the Lock Screen’s Now Playing widget
  • Show whether the media is playing or not
  • Configure the fade out speed and the Home Bar width with the slider
  • Allow or disallow the dynamic artwork colors and Home Bar colorization
  • Enable or disable the Home Bar color when the media is paused
  • Reset to default options
  • Respring the device to save the changes made

If you have the original MediaBar purchased on your device, then you can upgrade to MediaBar14 version for free. You will receive an email with the instructions on how to transfer the license. In case you don’t have the tweak purchased, then you can get it from the Chariz repository for $1.49 via your favorite package manager. This jailbreak tweak supports jailbroken iOS and iPadOS 14 devices and is also compatible with Little 12 on the notched handsets.
