Two years after the last major update, Apple officially announced a new iPad mini during the Keynote on September 14th, along with an update for the iPad.

The iPad mini 6 is described as a "complete redesign", the iPad mini 6 brings with it a variety of key changes that include a brand new and powerful A15 Bionic chip as well as an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, Apple Pencil 2 support, upgraded cameras, along with 5G internet connectivity. This is the updated iPad mini enthusiasts have been waiting for.

The Apple iPad Mini is available for orders from September 24th. It went on a pre-sale before September 24th. So now you can order your favorite iPad mini. Here is everything you should know about the new iPad Mini.

Release Date

The Apple iPad Mini 6 went on pre-sale and is now available for order. It has been on sale since September 24th. Now you can head to Apple to order your favorite iPad Mini.
The date of the launch in autumn is aligned with the predictions of Apple analysts. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, for instance, has stated in July 2021 that the brand new iPad mini "should be a go" to announce and launch in the fall of 2021.

Pricing

The Apple iPad Mini 6 is now available for order. The prices for Wi-Fi and cellular are as follows:

  • Pad mini 6 with Wi-Fi (64GB) $US$499 or PS479
  • The iPad mini 6 with Wi-Fi (256GB) (PS619/US$649).
  • The iPad mini 6, with Wi-Fi and cellular (64GB)--PS619/US $649
  • iPad mini 6, Wi-Fi and cellular (256GB). $ 799/PS759

The brand new iPad mini-tablets will launch with Pink, Starlight, Purple, as well as Space Gray finishes.

The initial price is $100 more expensive than the 5th generation iPad mini. One reason Apple may have changed the pricing for its iPad mini is related to the global shortage of components. In addition, due to Apple's suppliers' increasing prices, Apple might be able to charge more customers.

The Design

8.3-inch Liquid Retina display

The most noticeable modification is the bigger 8.3-inch display and the smaller bezels that extend around the iPad mini's 7.9-inch screen. The bigger screen is the result of a design change that a Macotakara report predicted in January of this year. So despite the larger screen, it has the same size (in fact, it's slightly smaller and lighter, though somewhat more substantial).

The screen brightness can be set to the max brightness of up to 500 nits together with a P3 broad color gamut and True Tone. An anti-reflective screen coating makes it one of the most minor reflective screens on the market, as per Apple. They have also moved its Touch ID sensor to the top button.

What's new in the iPad Mini 6?

The faster and more powerful A15 Bionic chipset

The recently launched iPad mini comes with the A15 Bionic processor that is the basis of the iPhone 13 series. According to Apple, the new processor boosts performance by 40%. It will undoubtedly be more efficient than the current iPad 9th generation, which features an A13 Bionic chipset.

It is equipped with a five-core GPU for graphics, which is said to deliver as much as 60% to 80% faster graphics processing. As a result, it will enable you to play graphic-intensive games and edit software with no difficulty.

USB Type-C and 5G connectivity

One of the significant features of the iPad mini is its futuristic 5G connectivity, which should provide more speed as the technology is released by cell networks.
Another significant improvement with regards to connectivity features is the USB Type C port. It offers greater versatility in terms of compatibility with a wider range of devices and increases the speed of data transfer.

A better front camera sensor is now available with the "Centre Stage" feature.

The front camera is also getting an improvement from 1.2MP in the old iPad mini to a 12MP camera in the recently released device. That jump is huge than anyone can think of (but what was a 1.2 MP camera doing there, to begin with!). In addition, the iPad mini's primary camera has been upgraded to the Centre Stage feature, which was made available for earlier models of the iPad Pro. With its 122-degree field of vision camera, it automatically pans and keeps you in the middle even when you are moving during a video conference.

At the rear, it sports a 12MP lens which comes with Smart HDR 3 for taking even better quality images. In addition, the camera can now record videos with 4K resolution using the camera in the back for video recording.

It supports the 2nd generation Apple pencil.

The newly released iPad mini is compatible with its second-generation Apple Pencil that magnetically attaches to the device. With the Apple pencil, it is possible to draw, write, and draw marks quickly.
