Among all the devices expected to launch this year, the HomePod might be the most underrated.

According to some rumors, this year Apple might go all the way and introduce a brand new feature for HomePods like a screen or something else.

But, as of now, nothing can be said for sure

The News:

According to an expert supply chain analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, the tech giant is planning to launch the HomePod in the fourth quarter of the year or the beginning of the first quarter of next year for the release of the new HomePod model, according to 9To5mac.

It is likely that this is going to be a bigger version than its predecessor, the HomePod miniature, and equipped with features that will reduce the price from $300, as it did with its predecessor.

Apple at present offers only the $99 HomePod mini, which is the only version. The original HomePod with much better audio was dropped last year after the price was reduced by $349 to $299.

Kuo continued to state that, while he sees the smart speaker as "undoubtedly one of the essential elements of the home ecosystem," However, he isn't convinced that Apple has realized how to succeed in the field of smart speakers.

An analyst has recently suggested that the tech giant is working on an updated version of its Apple television set-top boxes to reduce costs.
