A few years, there was an interesting jailbreak tweak known as Barrel that could be used to animate the Home Screen’s app icon in a unique way and would add a swipe up between each Home Screen page. Sadly, Barrel is not being maintained actively anymore which is one of the reasons why the Cylinder tweak was launched back in 2014.
Today, we have an exciting news for you as Cylinder Reborn has been released by the iOS developers Reed Weichler and Ryan Nair which is the latest update of this tweak that has been designed to work for iOS and iPadOS 13 & 14.
If you have used Barrel, then the first thing that we would like to tell you is that Cylinder Reborn is going to fill you with lots of nostalgia. You know the popular saying, ‘They don’t make them like they used to anymore.’? Well, that is exactly how Cylinder Reborn feels for you as it resembles the time of jailbreaking when there were loads of amazing jailbreak tweak ideas and releases.
What is interesting to note about Cylinder Reborn is that it includes more than five dozen animations to choose from and the users can easily select more than one animation to appear randomly when you move left or right on the Home Screen. And you can easily save the setups individually through Formulas. Once you install Cylinder Reborn, a dedicated preference pane is added in the Settings app and users can use it to configure the tweak to suit their needs.
Here are a few options that are available in the Settings:
- Turn on or off Cylinder Reborn when you want.
- Choose the animation effect that you want
- Adding and applying the formulas
- Randomize the animations chosen
One of our favourite things about Cylinder Reborn is that you can easily select more than one animation to display on the Home Screen. Generally, the animations that you choose will occur in the order that you select but you can easily randomize their order as well.
