Chimera jailbreak adds Procursus & Libhooker Support in Beta 1
Share:

Most of the jailbreak community is focused right now on the latest firmware such as iOS 13 and 14 and iPadOS 13 and 14. But Chimera is still working on iOS-12 centric devices and has released a beta version of the Chimera jailbreak tool.

The lead developer of Chimera Team, CoolStar announced on the official Discord channel of the company on November 30, 2020, about this new tool and even shared the link to the Chimera v1.5.0 beta version which is the latest jailbreak tool for the iOS 12 devices.

One of the most prominent changes made in this beta version of the Chimera tool is the addition of Procursus bootstrap for new users. So, you get complete support from libhooker for the tweak injections and other beneficial changes. The only drawback is that for the existing Chimera users, there is no option for migration in the beta version so you can only get the Chimera bootstrap along with a libhooker if you run the latest beta version on your jailbroken device.

The CoolStar team is currently working on adding the migration to the Procursus bootstrap with complete libhooker tweak injection so, the users might get it in a future update. You will likely get access to it with the next public beta release but it is certain that it will be offered with the next official release.

Apart from the addition of bootstrap, Chimera v1.5.0 beta 1 also comes with a lot of fixes and improvements that have been carefully taken from the newer iOS and iPadOS 13-focused Odyssey jailbreak. What this means is that when Chimera v1.5.0 is officially released to the public, it is going to more stable than the current beta release.

This Chimera jailbreak tool is currently supported on devices with iOS 12.0 to 12.4 that works with all A7 to A11-equipped devices. It also supports iOS 12.0 – 12.1.2 on all your A12-equipped devices. The only iOS and devices that are supported by Chimera are iOS 12.3.1 and later on A12 devices and 12.4.1 on any devices. CoolStar also mentioned that Chimera won’t support iOS 12.1.3 – 12.4.1 on A12 devices but that doesn’t mean that they will never include iOS 12.4.1 on the older devices.

Since this is currently a public beta release only, we would like to advise you to be careful if you are planning to download and install this Chimera version on your iOS 12 devices. If you aren’t an advanced developer or jailbreaker, it would be good for you to wait for the official release before you try out this new version on your device. Anything can go wrong and you might not be able to recover your iPhone if you don’t know how to jailbreak properly.

If you still wish to download the release after the warnings, then you can do so by downloading the beta links from the official Discord channel.

So, what do you think? Are you excited for the new Procursus bootstrap with full-fledged libhooker support on iOS 12 devices in Chimera jailbreak? Do let us know in the comments sect
