One of the most useful features on an iPhone that is used regularly by users is the Rotation Lock feature. This feature is used for a lot of different reasons but one of the major reasons is video consumption as this feature ensures that the orientation of the video doesn’t automatically change when you are laying down on your bed.
Although the quickest and the easiest way to toggle this feature is by the Control Center toggle but if you launch Control Center, then it will disrupt your video playback. So, shouldn’t Apple make it easier for the users to toggle Rotation Lock by adding a button on the video interface itself?
Well, we can’t do much about what Apple should do but we do have a newly released, free jailbreak tweak named AV Orientation Lock by iOS developer Hius that can help with this problem. This jailbreak tweak does exactly what we said before, it adds a dedicated Rotation Lock button at the top-right corner of the iOS’ native video player interface along with volume HUD bar.
Similar to how the Rotation Lock button works, the AV Orientation Lock button turns red when it is on and it turns gray when it is turned off. This way, you will always know the mode in which your iPhone currently is when you are watching a video and it looks aesthetically good as well. And the best part is that it works in portrait orientation as well!
One important thing to note about AV Orientation Lock is that it will only work with Apple’s native video player and cannot be used with third-party video player interfaces such as YouTube. So, it is a slightly limited jailbreak tweak but it is nevertheless good for iPhone users. And who knows, maybe in the future, the developer might even add support for third-party video player interfaces in this jailbreak tweak.
