If you have a jailbroken device and love to listen to music a lot, then I am sure you interact a lot with the Lock Screen’s Now Playing widget and might actually be thinking about customizing it. Well, lucky for you because a new and free jailbreak tweak has been released by iOS developer Nico Carbone which has been named aquarius.
This tweak allows the jailbreakers to personalize the Now Playing widget without putting a lot of effort. In the screenshot shared on this page, you will find that aquarius not just shrinks the large size of the Now Playing widget to make it easier to manage but also is capable of colorizing the button controls and hiding the unnecessary objects from the widget.
Once you install aquarius, it adds a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app which can be used to configure the tweak to suit their needs. Here, you can find options such as:
- Turn on or off aquarius on demand
- Select a preferred layout style such as default style, display the progress bar, display the volume bar, and minimal UI layout.
- Customize color for left music control button, right music control button, and middle music control button.
- Modify the opacity of the music player
- Respring to save the changes that you have made
There have been a lot of Now Playing widget-centric jailbreak tweaks that were released lately so you have a lot of options available. You just need to check the pros and cons of all the tweaks so that you can find the best solution for your device. In the case of aquarius, what we really like is that you can easily reduce the overall size footprint of the widget and you can customize the colors and the opacity as well.
