Apple TV+ shares the official trailer for Stephen King's limited thriller series 'Lisey's Story' ahead of June 4 premiere date

We are getting close to the premiere date for Stephen King's limited series Lisey's Story, which has been in the works for quite a long time.

In 2019, the series was first revealed. However, we didn't get a first look at the series until February of this year. Then, in April, we found out that the show will debut on June 4, 2021. The initial two episodes will be released on that day, followed by another six on a weekly basis every Friday. This brings us to today, when the official trailer is released.

There's plenty of footage in the trailer, which lasts about three minutes. The film follows Julianne Moore's character Lisey Landon as she encounters strange events after the death of her author husband, Scott Landon, played by Clive Owen. A series of "disturbing events" will bring back memories of her marriage and, in the end, reveal a reality Lisey could never have expected.

According to Apple, a series of disturbing events forces Lisey to confront memories of her marriage to Scott that she had consciously blocked out of her memory.

Dane DeHaan from Chronicle, Jennifer Jason Leigh from Annihilation, and Ron Cephas Jones from This is Us will also star in Lisey's Story. Stephen King wrote the screenplay, and the plot is based on his original book. King recently discussed the story:

"One point I wanted to make was that a famous person's spotlight can shine so brightly that it can blind those who are nearest to them," King said. "However, Tabby is responsible for a lot of what I've accomplished, and she's been incredibly supportive of me over all these years.

"It is not a love letter to her because it would be slightly humiliating for me and extremely embarrassing for her. But, in all of my marriage experience, everything I've learned has been positive. That's what there is to it."

For King, this is a personal story, which is why he wanted to pen the entire limited series. When it comes to adaptations, King is usually hands-off, but he took a different approach with this one.

J.J. Abrams from Super 8, the director, writer, and producer, has lent his support to the project, which he will produce for Apple TV+ through his production company Bad Robot.

Stephen King's novel Lisey's Story is a psychological horror romance that incorporates elements of psychological horror and romance. On October 24, 2006, the novel was released. It was nominated for the World Fantasy Award in 2007 and received the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel in 2006. The miniseries is based on this very novel.
