Apple appears to be discontinuing Space Gray "Magic" accessories that were sold separately alongside the iMac Pro following the iMac Pro's discontinuation. Apple produced special matching accessories for the iMac Pro, which was the only Space Gray Mac.

The bottom of the product page for the Space Gray Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad now says "While supplies last," indicating that these accessories will only be available for a limited time.

When the current stock of the Space Gray Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad is depleted, Apple will only have silver Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad available.

Following the release of the iMac Pro in 2017, Apple started selling standalone models of the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 to consumers who wanted matching accessory options. Apple does not seem to intend to continue producing Space Gray peripherals now that the Space Gray iMac Pro is no longer usable.

The new M1 iMac comes in seven different colors and includes matching trackpads, mice, and keyboards currently available only when buying one of the new iMacs. It's unclear if Apple wants to market the colorful Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboards separately in the future, but it's a possibility.

We could see colored attachment options in the coming months, as the iMac Pro accessories did not become available for purchase separately until several months after the system was launched.

The past of Apple's Space Grey

The space grey color was first introduced by Apple in September 2013 with the iPhone 5S, replacing the darker blueish-grey shade of the iPhone 5. In October of the same year, the space grey color was also introduced to the latest iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air.

A lighter version of the space grey hue debuted a year later, in September 2014, with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and thereafter made its way to the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, along with Apple Store gift cards.

Many people dubbed it "space grey 2" unofficially. In March of 2015, the first MacBook with the color was released. Since then, space grey has appeared on a variety of Apple products and has undergone more color changes.
