WARFRAME, is an online video game that is free-to-play, action role-playing, third-person shooter, and multiplayer too. The game was developed by Digital Extremes Studios. The game was released in March 2013 for Windows personal computers and was later ported to the PlayStation 4 in November 2013, released on Xbox One in September 2014, released in Nintendo Switch in November 2018 and the PlayStation 5 release in November 2020. The game is presently also being planned to be ported to Xbox Series X/S. The concept for the game originated in 2000 when Digital Extremes developers began work on a new game titled Dark Sector. The game studio had been successful in supporting other developers and publishers and wanted to develop their own game in-house.

The game had to go through several delays during development and was eventually released in 2008, having used some of the initial framework but a lot different from the original plan. By 2012, the developers took their earlier Dark Sector ideas and art assets and incorporated them into a new project, their self-published Warframe. The game’s success growth was radically slow with mediocre reviews from both critics, and gamers and low player counts.

Features of WARFRAME

  • Foundry: To construct a Warframe, players must first assemble each of its components in the game This is performed by expending the resources which the player can earn throughout the game, including a copy of the part's corresponding blueprint. All the component blueprints can be generally obtained by the player by completing all the necessary and appropriate Assassination missions, Quests, or Clan Dojo research, though there are any exceptions that exist. After the play has finished collecting and assembling all of the necessary parts, players can then purchase the Warframe's main blueprint from the Market with Credits which is the game's free-to-play currency to complete the construction process. Once assembled, a Warframe may be upgraded at any time with the installation of an Orokin Reactor.

  • Market: Warframes can also be purchased by the gamer fully assembled in the Market with lots of Platinum. When the player acquires in this manner, a Warframe comes pre-installed with an Orokin Reactor and is provided with a complimentary Warframe storage slot.

  • Storage: The players normally begin the game with two Warframe storage slots and players can acquire these additional slots from the Market for a minimum fee of 20 Platinum each where players also gain a complimentary slot for any Warframe purchased directly from the market. These slots can also be acquired through Nightwave. The player can acquire Platinum without spending real-world money by trading with other online players.

  • Cosmetics: Every player in Warframe can equip various kinds of alternative equipment or skins. These cosmetic items can include Helmets, Idle Animations, holographic Emblems, Sigils, and Cosmetic Armor.
