WARCRAFT III: REFORGED is a real-time, strategy remastered video game from the edition of the famous 2002 video game WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos and also its expansion The Frozen Throne. Story: The game’s original Blizzard author Christie Golden was requested to work on the game’s altered campaign, while plans for the original campaign would be partially retconned to bring it in line with the story of World of Warcraft and also to the revisions to the story made by the World of Warcraft: Chronicle lore series. Some of the original voice actors were also replaced by those currently voicing their characters. However, due to the fanbase reaction, this idea was scrapped. Though only the original intro cinematic was recreated the other was kept as the original parts.
Content: The game’s internal scripting language of Warcraft III, JASS, was joined by Lua, commonly used in scripting and custom content for other games, and for Blizzard's World of Warcraft. It was is intended to make custom content creation easier and then to expand it. The studio intended to make the editor more powerful and also other changes were also done to the game, such as increased custom camera views and individual unit traits are introduced.
Gameplay: The game retains most of the gameplay of the original edition, but during its development stage, it has spurred on further balance changes to the game's multiplayer. Players from the original client were able to access and play with the new game’s players by being given access to the new client after they have purchased the product. The game consists of a classic graphics setting that is available without purchase for those owning a classic license. Also, similar to StarCraft: Remastered, it uses the textures of the original release. Users can also unlock profile icons based on pre-race ratings.
