What is IconLover?

IconLover is a program to create and edit icons for Windows and Mac OS, animated GIF file, cursors and graphics stored in the most popular formats including BMP, JPEG, PNG, TGA or TIFF. IconLover features native support for GIF animation. You can use this icon software to create animated images, banners and buttons.

The icon software offers access to tools such as pencil, brush, spray, shapes, eraser, selection, fulfillment, insert text, edit curves or select color. IconLover equipped with filters has also been responsible for adding shadow effects, mirrors, change the selected color, sharpen images, change the color mode or the ability to insert gradients. Full support for Windows (ICO) and Mac OS (ICNS) icon formats enables designers to use IconLover for easy conversion of icons between these operating systems.

IconLover also offers layers support, the ability to import vector graphic files including AI and SVG (Inkscape installation required) formats, create transparency effects, import icons from EXE, DLL or RAR, and ZIP archives, export or import files in many popular formats ICO, BMP, JPEG, ANI, AI, SVG, PDF, CUR, GIF, PNG, TGA, TIFF, WMF, WBMP, XPM, XBM and PSD and more. IconLover can also be used for creating bitmap images in a variety of formats: BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TGA, TIFF etc.

It supports transparency and a full range of other format-specific features. Some designers prefer working with familiar software and then import the resulting image to IconLover and convert it to icons. With support for a variety of image formats, including Adobe Photoshop (PSD), Adobe Illustrator (AI), SVG, PDF, IconLover enables icon designers easily convert images to icons.
