IrfanView 4.50 with no support for Windows 95 and 98, and ported plugins to Unicodekuba - Wednesday, 11 October 2017
IrfanView is the best image viewer available for Windows platform. The app is fast, small and with great features. Irfan Skiljan released IrfanView 4.50. There are a lot of changes in this update. Below you can find the list of changes and improvements.
Highlights in this update include ported plugins to Unicode (the INI file will be converted to Unicode if you call the "Properties" dialog), support for iPhone PNG files (Formats PlugIn, thanks to Jongware), new option in Extract Pages/Frames dialog: Set page/frame range and fixes in the Print dialog. You can also now adjust Print preview image to color/bw printer settings.
IrfanView from version 4.50 offers no more support for Win9x platform. If you like to run the image viewer on Windows 95 or 98 you need to use older versions of the software. Other changes in this release include new text pattern: $m = show number of megapixels, new zooming method: Mouse wheel alone, if "Browsing->View other files" disabled.
In changelog we can find information about new Thumbnails sort menu: Sort by Megapixels, Wallpaper save format changed to PNG (Win8 and later) or new command line option: /hotfolder="folder". Several PlugIns are ported to Unicode, ANI format is moved to FORMATS PlugIn, FPX/RLE/DJVU/ANI/SVG PlugIn loading bugs fixed, Tools PlugIn EXE-loading problem fixed, JP2 PlugIn loading bug fixed.
