If you are looking for Blender alternative open-source or free software you probably will be disappointed. The king is only one - Blender. There is no real alternative to Blender, but you can always try free Wings 3D, or commercial software like 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Maya, Houdini Apprentice, Modo, and Rhino 3D.
