MyPaint is an easy tool designed for digital painters. It supports graphics tablets made by Wacom and other similar devices. The brush engine is configurable, and it provides useful productivity tools.
The standard brushes available in MyPaint can emulate traditional media like charcoal, pencils, ink, or paint. You don’t have to limit yourself to just the standard ones. It’s easy to make expressive, artful new brushes that respond lily you want. Full-screen mode hides the interface, leaving you with just your brush and the canvas. You can still reveal the tools you want when you need them.
MyPaint offers support for layers with groups, history panel, background images, few masking modes, access to basic filters, symmetrical painting mode, you can also use vector graphic on layers and edit them in external app like Inkscape. The app offers also an automated backup system of your working docs, with recovery on startup.
MyPaint can save files to OpenRaster format or export them to JPG or PNG files. There are also many tools allowing the user to select colors. We got also access to a color palette, hsv cube, crossed bowl, hcy wheel etc.
